So you want to become a Fresa? Well, it takes courage, determination, and lots of money. You may ask what is a fresa? Fresa is the Spanish word for strawberry, but in Mexico it has a different connotation. As any other country Mexico is divided into various social classes. The rich people are generally extremely rich. They live in big mansions in the city and have special children: Fresas.

All fresas have two things in common: money and vanity. The money is important to spend on useless things. The vanity is a consequence of the money. The fresa never have to worry about money because they will inherit their father's business because they deserve it. Cash is something they keep around for emergencies. Daddy's credit card will do for all other occasions. A lack of respect for material goods is essential. Crashing a car is a laughing matter because, after all, daddy can always buy another. The price of things are always discussed in public. The more the others know about how much something costs the better they feel.

High school is one of the hardest times in the life of a fresa. They have to take all these useless classes like Algebra I and Biology. But to help in their career they get tutors and aids. For the type who don't like studying daddy's money goes a long way on teachers' salaries be it in the form of gifts or in more years of schooling.

In college they don't bother with anything that is not inheritance administration. College level courses include: Asset Distribution, Finding a Manager, and Advanced Dominoes. They never take more than three classes a semester so that they can have time to practice their new skills. The college cafeterias have great domino tables and there are always others like them waiting to test their abilities.

A typical weekend in the life of a fresa includes making themselves attractive, going out to get smashed at a disco, and hopefully getting laid. Sex is performed at least once a week. This is no trouble for them because it is tradition to go home with the last person that one dances with. Fresas typically know how to dance but it's not that important to them. At a night club everybody is drunk anyway and are only interested in what other people are wearing. Fresas have to learn special abilities to fit into situations like these. They include smoking, drinking and whining. Some of the lesser fresas don't like to smoke (Blah, blah, blah, it's bad for their health) so instead they choose to social smoke. A high tolerance for liquor is not well looked upon in women. Being tipsy will always attract other people so fresas will often fake it if they find they have a high tolerance.

Socializing is very important. A party without liquor is not a social event and is not attended. They will never socialize with anybody of a lower class. Someone attempting to become one of them without having the money is considered a naco and is not spoken to.

Whining is a vital part of their existence. They realize life isn't fair, but why feel bad for everyone else? The world revolves around them. They expect to get everything they want. They deserve it. They have money.

The fresa language is very different. The movement of the mouth and tongue are kept to a minimum when talking because these are reserved for other situations. The accent falls on the last syllable of the sentence to make it sound more whiny. Words like, o sea (for explanations), este (for pauses in thoughts), and de pelos (for exclamations) are often used.

Couplehood is a very exciting time. It means that they will have sex with the same person week after week. But sometimes life gets a little dull and new partners must be found. Transitivity takes place and one often finds groups of fresas who have traded off their partners for others'. A group of fresas is very close knit in this fashion. Everyone has had the same experiences.

The typical male fresa starts off with greased hair. A man with wild hair shows that he's not spending enough money on it. He will wear a leather jacket and a t-shirt that prominently displays its designer. They can often be found wearing boots. They will wear either jeans or slacks depending on what the fashion dictates. These pants will always be tight to the crotch.

The typical female is very skinny. They get daddy to pay for a liposuction. Their face will be perfect thanks to rhinoplasty and dermatology. They will have a fashion sense. If they don't then they will hire someone to help them. Skirts serve the sole purpose of covering underwear. Pants are worn but only if they wear a shirt that will bare midriffs. Trips abroad are made to purchase these necessities.

So, do you still want to be a fresa? Are you ready for a life of sacrifices like chain smoking, and dressing up? Can you master the language? Do you think you are the most wonderful person in the world? Are you ready for a life of sex, drugs, and nose jobs? Ok. Show me the money.
